I agree with the teachers wanting back pay and compensation for being off work during the covid issue. This is something their livelihood depends on. However, anybody who knows what raw deal I received when I worked for a School 50 years ago knows that anybody more pro liberal than the Schools applies to any one who say "Anybody who doesn't want to work for minimum wage then let 'him starve! " or "Minimum wage is the least anybody is allowed to pay you and no less than! " This is not only something their livelihood depends on whether it be the teacher or the janitor but this is also a service that can not be repossessed.
